This course is for everyone who wants more than just conventional photography, such as taking holiday snaps, and who wishes to concentrate on photography as an art medium. The individual coaching of the lecturer makes the course accessible for beginners as well as for advanced students and semi-professionals. Learning the conscious use of light is the focal point of this course. We will work in black and white on slide material, so that every day the work of the previous day can be discussed. Upon prior agreement it will also be possible to work with colour negatives or to take digital photographs. A different spot in the area is visited every day. The locations have been selected carefully by the lecturer who is very familiar with the region. The multitude of images are of a large variety, which guarantees you as a photographer a wealth of impressions. The use of the specific atmosphere of the location allows for personal images to be created. Also attention will be given to technical aspects, such as usage of the different cameras and tripods. These technical sessions will be interchanged with an introduction of the history of photography and different applications from present documentation. At the end of the fortnight, a small exhibition is arranged. The maximum number of participants is ten. You are requested to bring your own equipment (non-automatic camera and tripod, and, if possible, a self-timer and flashgun). Film rolls and photographic paper are not included in the price. You can buy them at cost price on the spot.
